How To Change the Data Historian Location (version 24)

Upon the initial install of Canary software, the user has the option of choosing where the Historian Data folder will be located. This folder will contain a subfolder for each DataSet created in the Historian. By default, historical data will be stored in C:\Historian Data.

If the user wishes to change this location at a later time, the following steps must be taken.

1. Stop the Historian service.
2. Move the Historian Data folder to its new location.
3. Open the historian.service.json file. By default, this is located in C:\ProgramData\Canary\Historian.
4. Update the HistorianDataBasePath and any DataSet Path with the new location.

   

5. Save the file and start the Historian service.
