The Data Generation tool can be installed by selecting it from the Data Collectors list on the Canary Installer.

The application CanaryDataGeneration will be installed in:

C:\Program Files\Canary\Collectors\Data Generator\

As a Service

If you wish to run the application as a service, you may create a service targeting:

C:\Program Files\Canary\Collectors\Data Generator\SAF_DataGenerationService.exe

If using Command Prompt run as administrator and enter the following:

sc create CanaryDataGeneration binpath= "C:\Program Files\Canary\Collectors\Data Generator\SAF_DataGenerationService.exe"

You should also install the attached file pack in this directory:

C:\ProgramData\Canary Labs\Data Generation

To run as a service you will need to configure the file DataGeneration.config to target the .DGF file you wish to execute.  Make sure the .DGF file you target is in the same directory.

MQTT Publishing Client

The additional file, SAF_DataGenerationTarget.MQTT.xml, must be in this directory for the MQTT feed option to work within the CanaryDataGeneration application.

Note, the 'Auto Number' feature will likely not work with your MQTT Broker and should be turned off if using MQTT.
