“Preview Events” for Canary Calcs & Events

Troubleshooting Event logic is challenging because we cannot see how expressions evaluate over time before deploying. Other historian platforms provide a Preview Events capability that allows users to:

  • Run an Event definition over a historical time range.
  • View expression evaluations and hypothetical Start/End triggers.
  • Validate logic without impacting live data.

Adding a similar feature in Canary Calcs and Events would significantly reduce trial-and-error and improve confidence in complex calculations.

    Maybe "Preview Results" is a better description of this because hypothetically, it could apply to both Calcs and Event expressions.
