I would also like to see a pie chart. In my mind, I would like to have the ability to choose how many slices the pie is divided into and to add individual tags to each slice of the pie. This would allow me to track the life of like consumables on a single piece of equipment. This of course would all be in addition to the current capabilities of donut gauges where the color can be formatted based on tag values.

Good morning, would it be possible to get a status update on the development of this potential feature?

    Thanks,

    Nick

    Hi Nick,

At this time there are no formal plans to incorporate this feature, but that doesn't mean it won't be considered in the future. Currently, the features we have committed to building are located on our Roadmap.

IMHO, having this feature is a must have for a dashboard as it is very classic.

After a basic demo done, one of the first question is: "I didn't see the Pie Chart during your demo, can you show it please?"

We also have a number of requests from time to time to require Pie Chart.  I believe this is important for Canary to be even more well-positioned for a bigger market share.

Pie Chart is good if we want to view the composition of values over a period of time. ie. we could have a overall view of temperature percentage which are within normal, high and low for last 1 week or 24 hours using Pie Chart. Despite some might see this irrelevant to time series data, yet, this is a common question from users asking about Pie Chart when they hear the term "dashboard". Kind of expected to be a standard feature for "dashboard". Hope to see one in Axiom.

It is a really needy and important graph for customer, specially when other important competitors has this feature. In order to capture opportunities, and even migrate other systems to Canary, this graph turns out to be a Critical Path on projects and decision making.

Hi everyone! We are looking to develop a pie chart for Axiom, but would appreciate some specific feedback as to what you would expect it to do. Our initial thought is that it would be for multiple tags at a given time using raw data, or over a period of time using aggregated data. Each tag would have its own slice of the pie.

Is there a need to have it support a single tag which is divided some other way? Let us know your thoughts!

       , yes indeed is needed.

Had a meeting few weeks ago with customer that has PI Syst. and they're having individual tags, and they divide pie like the following:

      1. Green % - Crusher time running with load

      2. Yellow % - Crusher time running with no load

      3. Red % - Crusher time stopped (not running)

All these in one pie chart and display all pie charts needed for all crusher running on plant (each independent).

Can we consider this on version 24.2 update?

Thanks for the feedback! I don't know if there will be a 24.2 this year, or if it will go into 25.0. There's still a lot to be done before the next major release.
