Data Entry Control in Asset Template should indicate tag doesn't exists

In Axiom v24, if you add a Data Entry Control to an Asset Template, the control will show up in each asset pane, regardless of whether or not that tag exists. If someone tried to enter a value, you get an unhandled error about not being able to find a server address. Assets that don't have the tag should have the Data Entry Control grayed out. Similar to how if you have a Trend in an Asset Template, the trend line doesn't show up for assets that don't have that tag.

    Hi ,

I made development aware of this, but I'm not sure how we will handle it just yet.

Something development suggested in the meantime as they determine how to handle this scenario, you could use a filter and specify that [TagName]. If an asset doesn't have that tag, it will be removed from the template. Now, if there is other information contained within the panel that you still want to appear then this won't work, but thought I'd pass it along anyway.

please let me know what they say. I tried what you suggested. But it also filters out assets that have that tag but have no value in that tag (e.g., the tag was created by Calculations because I have no other way of creating tags, but since populating the value is manual, there is no value in some of them yet). And the whole point of the application is for me to be able to add values where none exists!
