Hello Jay and welcome to the Canary Community.  Happy to assist with your question.  Canary Cloud is priced based on the number of tags you store, number of client tools that will query data, how fast you sample or poll that data, and how long you wish to store the history (these are all indicators of what our cloud storage and data transfer fees will amount to).

Number of tags stored and number of client tools is straight forward, but sample or poll rate can be a bit confusing.  

Ask yourself this, what is the fastest update rate I need on my data?  Some IIoT projects are very slow polls, once a minute, a hour, or maybe only once a day even.  Of course, most industrial data processes are much faster, polling data changes every second.  We give you the choice to decide which fits your project best, polling data as fast as once per second or only as fast as once a minute. 

Finally, how long you want to store data references the total amount of tag history that will be saved.
