Convert users from Wonderware Historian

Hi Guys,

Looking to convert some long time Wonderware Historian users to Canary, and looking for the best way to import data from their original historian into the Canary environment.

Thanks!

The Canary SQL Collector is usually the tool of choice.  Our SQL Collector allows for both real time data collection as well as historic collection.  Log the archived data to new Canary tags, then setup your new logging sessions to write to those corresponding tag names.  If you have already started logging the new tags, we have a process that can allow you to convert the Wonderware (or other archive) history and then stitch that history into the current logging tag records.  More on this to come.

  • I can concur!  Thanks to Jeff and his team, we stood up a sandbox WW historian and went through multiple scenarios for populating historical data into Canary from WW Historian, and it works great!

kagifford Glad to hear it went well!  You and the Sure Control team are A+ so I'm not surprised!

  • @jeff_knepper , Do you have this process to move data from Wonderware into Canary documented?

I have a site where we might need to do this, depending on the level of effort.
