Restrict Data Entry Input by Type

For the Data Entry control, it would be useful to allow the admin configuring the control to limit the type of data that can be entered. For instance, the Getting Started article states Canary can accept data of types "Booleans, Integers, Floats, Doubles, or Strings". It would be great to be able to choose one of these and only accept valid entries. For instance, if it's a Boolean tag, accept 0, 1, true, false, etc. but not 56.7.
