Sending Alerts or Notifications to SMS texts
Some of our users would like alerts or notification messages sent via text message in addition to or instead of emails.
This wasn't really an issue when cell carriers were supporting email to text, but at least some already have or are in the process of doing away with that option.
Checking in-house there doesn't seem to be a corporate solution or standard, just a few tailored workarounds.
Has anyone else run into this or come up with a good alternate for delivering notifications out of Canary via SMS?
Are there any plans to incorporate SMS as an alternate/additional notification path from Canary natively?
Thanks,
kevin

I've had this question too! In addition to SMS, it'd be nice to be able to send to API endpoints or even act as a webhook.
Regarding SMS, that's a whole technology in itself. I'm not sure I want my historian vendor monkeying around over there.
We've had a customer use https://www.smseagle.eu/. It acts as an email server you can direct notifications to and then distributes them via an inboard SIM card much like how it used to be with carriers. There's also tons of cloud-hosted options as well.
I've not yet come across a free and easy option.
