OPC data collector: connections to redundant DCS systems

Hello, I would like to know if the OPC DA data collectors can be configured to connect to one redundant OPC servers. I mean connect to a primary OPC server A (Active) and to a secondary OPC server b (stand-by) and in case of switch-over continue collecting information from the backup server. Thanks!!!

    Hi martin. varela ,

    The collector does not connect to two OPC servers simultaneously. We recommend installing a collector for each OPC server. See  Understanding Canary System Architecture Options for more details. The Historian uses a "first in wins" mentality if both collectors are running at the same time.
