Obsolete Tags

Hi, I have a tag that I deleted, however, I want to use the name of this tag without resetting the old data, how can I do it?

    Hi ,

    I need a little more information. Did you delete the tag from the Collector? Did you obsolete the tag from the Historian? Canary does not have the ability to delete a single tag from a DataSet. A tag can be obsoleted though. At that point, it is orphaned off and no longer available for the end user to see. The data still resides in the historical data files though.

    If you obsolete a tag in the Historian then write back to it, it will essentially resurrect that tag and its data.
