Axiom trend charts

Hi,

Does anyone know whether I can create new trend charts in one system and copy them over to the new system? The new system is not set up for production yet since we are still performing a series of tests. But we have a mature system where Canary/Axiom are working for many years. My plan is to create new charts in our existing system and once the new system is up and running, copy the charts over to the new system. Does that work?

Thanks,
Rosy

In theory yes. But are the versions between the 2 systems different? That could cause issues. If they're the same, you just have to drop it in the right folder on the new machine.

They are different versions, v23 and v24. And the tags are different. So I believe I need to be on the right system to create new trend charts. Thanks.

I just found out my Dev license expired! So I couldn't test. But I checked the files between 23 and 24. They look pretty similar. It's probably worth copying a file over and seeing how it behaves. And since it's just a JSON text file, you can write a powershell script to find any tag references and replace them with the new tag.

Thanks. I am not that familiar with the application. However, I was told the new system is up and running so I will go ahead and use the new system. Thanks for your guidance.

Once you do, please let us know how it goes!

    Hi ,

If you're using v24 or later, by default Axiom files are stored in C:\ProgramData\Canary\Axiom\Files\[userFolder]. If you're using a version prior to v24, the default location is C:\ProgramData\Canary\Axiom\Charts\[userFolder] or ...\Applications\[userFolder].
