Required internet connection speed?

I monitor operations trends for a client remotely. I have a 20Mbps sattellite internet connection (YahClick) and connect to my client's corporate network using a Sophos VPN connection.  Unfortunately this does not seem to work well as I continuously get "Lost connection to Server' message.  While my client has thousands of real time tags, I only need to monitor a handful at a time, and could even accept a few minutes delay in most cases.  Is there a way to reduce network connection requirement (I suspect 'latency' is my problem as a 20Mbps sounds like enough and I understand sattellite connections have high 'latency' (whatever that means).  Is there a 'set-up' tutorial somewhere for end users like myself so I can go through it and see if there is a setting or something I need to change?

Hi dasmuller2 . Unfortunately there is no such configuration. Axiom requires a reliable connection as it is constantly requesting data from the Views service, especially when it is in live mode.

    Thanks Steve.

Is there a way I can set up trends to record and then just download the recorded file and work off line?  I generally do analysis of failure events so generally don't need to stream live.

With a second (and local) historian you could either set up another independent data stream that would push data to you when you are online (buffer back at site when you are not) OR you could manually pull the HDB files you want to your local historian.  Connecting Axiom to your local historian instance would be the best solution.  DM if you would like a trial license to experiment with.
