Newbie Question - How to troubleshoot "Was not able to identify a valid DataSet Name from the item ID" SQL Collector

Hello,

I am a newbie Canary user setting a SQL Collector. I keep getting this error: Error 0x80040416 How to troubleshoot Was not able to identify a valid DataSet Name from the item ID. 

I found this error in the list of possible errors but have no idea how to troubleshoot. Can someone point me to a user guide or something I might have missed? It says this field can be left blank in the setup but then I cannot apply the changes if I try that.

    Hi ! Welcome to the Canary Community!

    If the Dataset field is left blank, it is expecting the Dataset name to be prepended to the tag name within the data table we're reading from SQL (i.e. DataSetName.MetricTagName). If the Dataset name is not prepended to the metric tag name, you will want to provide a Dataset name using that field. The Dataset acts as a folder within the Historian where the data will be stored.
