馃憤Great question. We will be releasing a new series of collector technology this summer that is .NET 5 which will allow for our data collection to be installed on both Linux and Windows devices.  This rollout will begin with direct to PLC data collection for AB and Modbus but will eventually migrate all data collection methodology to support .NET 5.

      Hi ,

The Collector that Don mentioned was part of the Central Admin which was introduced in v22. It was a separate install and interface from the Canary Admin which allowed the user to collect data directly from AB, Siemens, and Modbus devices without having to go through a piece of middleware such as an OPC server. Unfortunately, there was not a lot of buy in from customers and so it was discontinued in version 24.

I will say though, there was great effort in rewriting the software for version 24 which will allow us to potentially install some of our services in a Linux environment. Right now, we only support Windows, but it's probably just a matter of time before we starting supporting Linux. That is up to the development team to decide what the roadmap will look like and how soon this functionality will be available. I can't give you a definitive answer on how soon this will be. Potentially though, you would be able to run our OPC UA, MQTT, CSV, and SQL Collector on a Linux machine.
