How to undo linked tags?

We linked some historical data together with linked tags, but we want to be able to separate the historical data to review it. Is there a way to do this?

    Hi ,

You could upload a blank CSV file. Whenever you upload a new one, a backup of the SQLite database is created. You could then revert back to the previous database by stopping the Views service and renaming the backup file.

The other option would be to stop the Views service, move the C:\ProgramData\Canary\Views\LinkedTags\LinkedTags.sqlite database to a temporary location, then restart Views. It will create a new blank database when the service starts. Afterwards, just stop the service again and move the file back into place.

Thanks for the reply, was very helpful. I have a follow up question, is there a procedure for moving tag data from one dataset to another so that those tags could be linked?

Tags do not need to reside in the same DataSet to utilize the linked tags capability.

If you're wanting to merge historical data from one DataSet into another without using linked tags, that would require some engineering services to rewrite the entire DataSet. Typically, we lean on our integrator partners to do something like this.
