Can't log in to Axiom

I am trying to log in to AXIOM, but when I do so I see the following message:

Oops. A problem occurred
Failed to obtain session token. See error log for details.

In the logs I have:

12/22/2022 03:50:50,Warn,Axiom,,"Failed to obtain session token. See error log for details.
Exception: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Stack Trace:    at AxiomService.WebServer.ServerResponse.SessionTokenState(String sessionTokenState, Session2 session)
   at AxiomService.TokenManager.GetSessionToken(ClientRequest request, ClientRequestInternalContext context)"
12/22/2022 03:49:11,Info,CanaryAdministrator,,"Restart Canary Axiom initiated by Canary-Test\optAdmin"

When I try to use http:// instead of https://, I automatically get redirected to https. (Disabling the automatic redirect didn't seem to work out for me).

Other things I noticed is that even though a binding a certificate were created.

netsh http show sslcert

SSL Certificate bindings:
-------------------------

    IP:port                      : 0.0.0.0:443
    Certificate Hash             : c6e2b844a1eb5b664d7d2995d1df00338829cfab
    Application ID               : {c7556d45-d4cd-4935-bbd8-05d1ebebb4e8}

Chrome and Edge reports no certs are assigned to the canary webpage.

Any help in debugging this?

  • Hi jerome. lefebvre

Does the user have logon rights to the server? Axiom impersonates the user when they log in for writing/reading applications which requires them to have access to the server.

  • Hello Steve,

Thank you for the suggestion. The solution was to downgrade to 22.1.

22.2 and 22.3 were not working in my environment.

    Cheers

Any update on version 23? I seem to have this issue with multiple users. For some it works, for others it doesn't.

V23 has been out for some time now, but there is nothing in that version that is particular to the issue seen here. If it is working for some users and not others, something else is going on outside of the software, whether it be permissions or network. I do know that the user must have logon rights to the server where Axiom is installed as Axiom impersonates that user.

If you would like the latest version you can send an email to support@canarylabs.com requesting it and they can provide you with a download link as long as you have an active customer care agreement.
