Timestamp formats in historian vs what the client sees

Where does the time source from?  How does the timestamp change from source to historian to client?

Canary receives the timestamp from the data source.  If an OPC Server, the timestamp is passed to Canary from the OPC Server.  The time zone is therefore based on the logging device.  Canary stores the timestamp in UTC.  When a client requests data, Canary uses the local time zone of the requesting client and converts the UTC to that client's time zone.
