Some of the Canary team worked with a midstream oil and gas partner to do this. Overview attached. It is a good bit of engineering work but possible and stable once completed.

@Roald Ruiter For this we would suggest using the 'Floating Label' option within the trend chart. You can change the display of the floating label if you do not want it to default as the tag name.
